Awesome collection of 40k stories touching on the topic of The Great Devourer, The Dragon, the Tyranids. Some stories are better than others, the Eldar tales were a bit tedious. But the insane perspective of a Tyranid Broodlord in ‘Shield of Baal: Deathstorm’ really hits the spot.

I’ve started reading this before and some familiarities with certain topics (tax evasion, shareholder capitalism, etc.) put me off reading it more. But the chapters on renewable/generous design, the history of well-known economical mechanisms, is keeping me interested. Don’t get me wrong, this is a wonderful book with a powerful message, definitely recommend, it shifts your view on basically everything around you.

Absolutely loved this stark, emotional struggle by a man and his son travelling by foot across a post-apocalyptic America. The man’s frustrations and hopelessness can be felt and the boy’s little mistakes and childlike imagination hurt to read. Also McCarthy’s strange poetry on nature and the world around the travellers really stick in your head (I had to look up SO many words).

I already said this, but once more for good measure: SUCH a strong book on the purpose of journalism, Dutch paternalism and obedience, why political games and journalism about those games contributes to civil frustration. Also, one of the many audio books I’m listening to, a great way to do your household chores :)
Great book! Speaks on moral obligations, the importance of doing right over feeling good, entrepreneurship for the common good. Made me think on what’s important in a job, which you spend a great part of your life doing, so you better make it count.
Absolutely awesome book. ‘Don’t always choose the side of power’, loosely translated, is ruthless about the misty and downright disingenuous collaboration of journalists with politicians, spin doctors and campaigners. Must read! Makes you angry in a good way.
